Canopy and Floor Management of mango, banana and litchi, characterization and biodiversity conservation of mango, banana and underutilized fruits, production technology of tropical and sub-tropical fruits including dry land fruit crops
Teaching experience: acquired more than 19 years of teaching, research and extension experience and associated with Under Graduate [ B. Sc. (Hort.) and B. Sc. (Ag.)], Post Graduate [ M. Sc. (Hort.)] and Ph. D teaching.
Courses are being taught at BCKV in Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Ph.D programme are Production Technology of Fruit Crops, Tropical and Sub-tropical Fruits-II, Dry Land Horticulture, Production Technology of Tropical and Subtropical Fruits, Growth and Development of Fruit Crops, Water Management of Fruit Crops, Arid Fruit crops, Commercial Fruit Nursery
Research Projects Handled (externally funded): Completed 6 (six) ad-hoc research projects. Ongoing ad-hoc research projects are 3(three).
Students Guided: 06 (six) Ph. D and 10 (ten) M. Sc. At present 2 (two) students are doing research leading to Ph. D degree.
Exposure and Recognition: Participated in nine (9) different training programmes for capacity building including one International Training on Musa germplasm Information System (MGIS), Participation in 40 (forty) National /International Seminar/Congress/Conference, Guest Lecturer of Calcutta University and also acted as a Board of Examiners for the evaluation of Ph. D. and M Sc Thesis of Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari, Cooch Behar and Paper Setter of Union Public Service Commission, B. Sc.(Ag.), B. Sc. (Hort.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) programme of Visva- Bharati, Santiniketan, Birsa Agricultural University, Rajendra Agricultural University, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology and College of Horticulture and Forestry, College of horticulture, Central Agricultural University, Passighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Members of Technical Support Group, National Horticulture Mission, Farm Modernisation Committee of Dept. of Food Processing Industries and Horticulture. Significant Achievement
■ Developed Rejuvenation technique of old and unproductive mango orchard, the technology is ready for transfer to the farmers.
■ Standardised bagging materials for using as bunch cover for quality banana production.
Publication Summary: 180 (one hundred eighty) research papers including 9 (nine) popular articles and 4(four) Book Chapters.
