Contributions/achievements in the field of specialization:
A) Formation of New courses in Plant protection, Weed science & Oilseeds in UG & PG studies.

B) Publications: Book-6; Booklets – 12; Scientific Articles-180 and others through Media > 100.

C) Acted as Expert in Selection Board, Course Coordinator, External Examiner, Project & Paper Reviewer in National level, Life member in National and International Societies > 15 and Member, State Plant Protection Committee.

D) Organized International (1), National (2) and Training Programmes (>20).

E) Participated International Conferences- >11 including South Africa (IWSSC), Vietnam & Sri Lanka (APWSC) and Bangladesh besides attending > 45 in National level.

F) Established WB Chapter of ISWS (2002), WB weed Science Society (2004) & Crop and Weed Science Society (2006) - Publishing Journal and Newsletter.

G) Replaced traditional rice with HYV in flash flood area and Boro paddy with summer oilseeds at Farmers field of Burdwan, Hooghly and Nadia & Promoted Oilseeds cultivation in WB. H. First identified wild rice (Jhara Dhan) Oryza rufipogon in 2007 and Spongy gash/Jangi gash, Eleocharis congesta in 2006, Elatine triandra (Choto nunia) in 2002in West Bengal.

Developed sustainable INM technology:
i) System of Intensification in Rice, ii) Use of Some weed species as Biopesticides like Calotropis, Pistia, Eclipta etc. as Green manure like Polygonum, Ipomoea, Eicchornia, Xanthium, Parthenium;  as biodiesel Jatropha & as medicinal use like Calotropis, Parthenium etc., iii) Ecofriendly biofertilizer Parthenium Compost,  and iv) Ecosafe weed management of (a) Problematic weeds like Parthenium, Cyperus, Echinochloa & some invasive weeds (b) Tea and (c) Major field crops of NAZ like Paddy, Wheat, Maize, Black & Green Gram, Soybean, Rapeseed & Mustard, Groundnut, Jute and Potato.
